Olea europaea is a slow growing, evergreen, spreading shrub. It has narrowly oblong leaves which are grey-green above, silvery beneath. Needs full sun and deep, fertile, very well-drained soil. In cold areas it will require protection of a sheltered, south or west facing wall.
