Laurus nobilis is a fully hardy, evergreen plant with narrowly oval, leathery, glossy dark green aromatic leaves. It has small fragrant pale yellow flowers in spring, in the autumn on female plants, green berries appear that ripen to a dark purplish black. It is happy in full sun or partial shade and it is suitable for all well-drained soil. It has a 30-40cm head, a 80cm clear stem and is in a 18 litre pot.
